MERCHANT NEWS AND RESOURCES
The SF Market’s mission is to connect and grow the region’s food and agriculture community from our wholesale market in the heart of San Francisco. This mission is achievable only in a hand-in-hand partnership with you, our dedicated and hard-working merchants. We applaud your fortitude, generational longevity, late nights/early mornings, and constant desire to improve. Your produce feeds the Bay Area and helps support San Francisco as a culinary destination. We are deeply vested in your business success.
The SF Market is unique in its nonprofit structure, community partnership, City involvement, and other complexities. We strive to continue improving communications to bring everyone along as changes unfold and opportunities arise.

JOIN THE MARKET TOWN HALL MEETING
We warmly invite all merchants to join our quarterly open town halls, designed as a collaborative forum to address your questions and provide insights into the latest developments on the Market. These sessions are an excellent opportunity to stay informed, share feedback, and engage directly with the team. Be sure to check back here for updates on the date of the next Town Hall—we look forward to your participation!
MARKET COMMUNITY

WEBSITE LAUNCH – THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
A big thank you to all who joined us in February for the focus group on the new website. Your input helped us finalize the site copy and functionality. Our top priority was ensuring this revitalized tool works to promote your business and share information directly with you. This website is key to our plans to help raise the visibility of The SF Market.

NEXT-GEN MEETING
Next-Gen Meetings are designed to serve the needs and interests of the younger generation of merchant leaders in the Market. Meetings provide a space to build market relationships, and topics include, but are not limited to, the history and governance of the SF Market. They also produce industry best practices, changes, trends, and where the industry is heading. We thank our hosts, Earl and Mabel Herrick of Earl’s Organic Produce for an open Q&A session and a tour of their facility at 2101 Jerrold. We also thank our participating Merchants from Payless Logistics, S&L Produce, Shasta Produce, Washington Vegetable Co., and What A Tomato.
Bayview Shuttle
SF Muni has launched the on-demand Bayview Shuttle, which serves the Bayview and nearby transit stations (24th Street Mission BART and CalTrain Stations). Once you download the app and request a ride, shuttles come straight to you and deliver you anywhere in the Bayview or to transit.
The Bayview Shuttle costs: Standard fare is $2.75 per ride and a discounted rate of $1.35 is available for seniors, riders with disabilities and Clipper START cardholders.
Service hours run from 7:00 am – 7:00 pm on weekdays and from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm on weekends, which do not entirely align with merchant business and other businesses’ hours but should help for morning departures from the Market. Market staff is in regular conversations with Muni to try to extend service hours to be of greater help to our merchants and their teams. We ask that you share information about this service with your team members.
